Residencies
Centre Rog: Designer in Residency Programme
Calling for designers from diverse backgrounds, they are providing a 3 month long Designer-in-Residency, exploring ancestral knowledge, informing contemporary design responses to environmental, social and cultural challenges. It will be located in the heart of Ljubljana, Slovenia. It will be held from 19th August to 20th November 2024. Centre Rog is searching for fresh interpretation, to showcase how designers adapt traditional concepts, materials, and values to create relevant contemporary solutions that respect natural ecosystems and promote regenerative practices. 5 creatives will be selected; they will receive accommodation, workspace, covers cost and so much more.

Displaced Artists Residency at Reid Hall 2024-25
Artists based in France can apply to this residency, supported by Columbia Global Centres and the Institute for Ideas and Imagination. It provides support for artists who have had to leave their countries of origin, due to extreme circumstances. It offers time and space to one artist working on a long-term project and to take the part of public lectures, exhibits, podcasts and workshops from September 2024 and June 2025

Vishni
Located in the region of North Macedonia, in the village of Vishnu near the city of Strega, this residency is looking for artists and cultural practitioners from the Western Balkans who are interested in collaborating with the local community. This has been established by 2 non-profit organisations: INCA and Mini Pogon. They have planned for 3 two-week residencies, hosting 3 artists each.

Emptyroom
In Mozambique, they are looking for visual and multidisciplinary artists to work together in twos and create a joint project. It includes visits to natural spaces, a guided street art tour and encourages exploration outside of your comfort zone. They are looking for applications from artists from Angola, Cape Verde, Guinea Bissau, Mozambique and São Tomé and Príncipe.

OFFCITY AiR 2024
They are calling for applications from artists, architects, theorists or interdisciplinary collectives on the topic of Articulation of Architecture and Public Space held in Pardubice, Czech Republic. OFFCITY explores how a city is both a structure and a living organism, with its many form of expression. Participants are invited to explore the city and articulate its art and culture.They provide accommodation and a workspace for 1 to 3 weeks and cover fees.

PimOff Theatre
PimOff Theatre in Milan has launched an open call for its residency programme for Contemporary Dance and Performance, in support of national and international choreographic and performative research. They will support dance projects at their creation phase that have never debuted and have been presented in front of a public audience in its final form. They will provide to all selected artists up to 10 days from February to May 2025. The exact length and arrangements can be discussed. PimOff will provide a theatre room, accommodation, financial support, communication support and technical counselling.

Fellowship
The Africa Institute: Tejumola Olaniyan Creative Writers-in-Residence Fellowship 2024
The Africa Institute opens applications for its 3rd cohort of Creative Writers-in-Residence Fellowship, based in United Arab Emirates. It honours the late Nigerian Professor Tejumola Olaniyan and his remarkable legacy in the field of African literature. It is open to novelists, playwrights, poets, script writers, related to Africa and the African diaspora. It will be based in Sharjah, UAE for 3 months, allowing the applicants to complete their work, receiving a grant of 45,000 AED. They will have the opportunity to publish their texts through The Africa Institute’s publications programme.

Unpublished Photo 2024
This is open to photographers, hosted by a number of Eurpoean institutes. The applicants must submit an unpublished photographic project of 10 images, with a succinct theme and style. International experts will choose 4 finalists to win. Participation in this international competition is free of charge. It is open to young photographers born between 1994 and 2006.

British Art in Motion
This is a competition for undergraduate students who want to experiment with filmmaking as a research practice. They are searching for applicants who will offer new, engaging, creative and thought-provoking ways to interpret British art and architecture from all periods. British Art in Motion will provide a fully funded trip to London this summer, give you a production fund of £500 and provide guidance and mentorship. They will also give you the opportunity to see your film at a screening in Central London, with a prize of £1000 for the winning film.

Grants
Toyota Foundation
They are calling for applications for collaborative projects from East Asia, Southeast Asia and South Asia for their grant programme called ‘Cultivating Empathy Through Learning from Our Neighbours: Practitioners’ Exchange on Common Issues in Asia.’ The project can be one year long from Nov 24 - Oct 25 or two years from Nov 24 - Oct 26. It must identify issues and conduct a review by surveying and analysing the situation in target countries, carry out activities aimed at providing solutions and produce a tangible output. Team members could include those with practical experience and knowledge, such as practitioners, researchers, creators, policy makers and media representatives.

Caribbean Culture Fund
The CCF calls for proposals and invites individuals, organisations and institutions from across the Caribbean, to submit cultural and creative projects. This includes Barbados, Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, the Dominican Republic and Haiti. This includes visual, performing and festival arts, film, interdisciplinary art forms, architecture and design. They are searching for 2 things in particular, art for social change and civic engagement as well as caribbean collaboration.

This movement offers grants to artists , cultural professionals and hosts organisations in all European countries that work in architecture, heritage, design, music and more. With a focus on nurturing artists from around the world, it offers an amazing opportunity for 7 to 60 days.
